I have two “NEX-GEN” Hot Spots, one for a couple years they work fine. I have several SSIDs and passwords in both of mine and it takes about 45 seconds to enter one on the Hot Spot. When i am in the house it works, then I go jump in the car and it detects my Verizon Hot Spot before i get out of the yard.

My Rugged Spot arrived late this afternoon, a little late (thank you USPS) but DEFINITELY worth the wait. I read the instructions, grabbed my power supply plugged it in and waited. Booted up as it should and in the first 30 seconds made my first contact on TAC310. I am especially impressed by the laser cut case it is as aesthetically pleasing as it is functional and rugged. I give it 9.9 / 10!

My “COMMANDER II” in my custom made GO KIT !
Pelican 1050 Micro Case from Frye’s, 5V 2.5A power supply from Gigaparts, and the short micro USB that was included with my Commander Spot for use with a battery. I cut out spots for the parts from an old piece of dense packing foam with a Xacto knife. Rugged, moisture proof, “crush resistant” GO BOX.
This was an INVESTMENT worth spending an extra $20 on to outfit and protect.

Just received my “Commander II” in the mail today !
You know here in New Orleans we pride ourselves on fine dining and the chefs will tell you the importance of the “presentation”.
That is what I was thinking of as I was unboxing it – the meticulous attention to detail in packaging, the instructions, the thank you card and even the perfect lettering, you could tell you were getting something special. Reminded me of two other times, on a much smaller level of course – but when I bought a Rolex and when I bought a 90K+ BMW.

Today I received my “Rugged Spot”. It was worth the wait as it looks to be very well built. From the time I placed my order, through receipt, Bobby has reached out to me a couple times to let me know status. My unit was shipped by U.S. Postal Service in a very well packed box. I had to peel away multiple layers of packaging to get to my prize.
My initial thought was ‘wow’, it looks very substantial. It came with a test report and a personal card from Bobby.
I logged into unit and added in my GPS coordinates and city, state into profile. I then reprogrammed my radio to a new frequency which I requested.
My DMR HT came to life immediately !!!
I’m very excited to start putting this unit to use on DMR and D-STAR.

I’ve had the “Rugged Spot” about 10 days and LOVE it. I use it all the time even though I am literally surrounded by DMR repeaters. It is everything it is hyped up to be and really is plug and play. For real. I had some problems with it the first couple of days precisely because I tried setting up stuff that was already set up! Duh.
Bobby has been great in answering my questions. All I should have done was plug it in and play! Period.

I recently ordered a “Rugged Spot” and wanted to let you know how pleased I am. The service was great and your email responses were very nearly immediate each time I had a question. The unit arrived well packed and thanks to your testing and burn-in of the unit it worked flawlessly the first time it was powered up. I was so pleased I then purchased an XD4 and am equally pleased with that unit. It’s the one I use mobile with my iPhone as a hotspot.
